Everyday use
How Gamma is put together, who does what, and the tasks most people do every day — with a link to the full page for each area.
Gamma is where a construction team keeps the 3D models of a building and the work done against them: issues found on site, forms filled in by inspectors, and the progress of each element. The web app and the GAMMA AR app work on the same data, so an element has the same id and position in the browser and on site.
This page is the short version. Each area has its own page with the details.
How it is organized
Everything sits in three levels:
| Level | What it holds | Who manages it |
|---|---|---|
| Organization | The company account: its members, companies, permission profiles, sign-in policy and storage | Organization owners and admins |
| Project | One building or site: its members, settings, activity and everything below | Project admins, and organization owners and admins |
| Content | Models, Markers, Issues, Forms and Progress inside a project | Whoever's permission profile allows it |
You can belong to several organizations, and to any number of projects in each. A guest is someone from outside an organization who was invited to a single project and sees nothing else.
Who can do what, in short
Two separate things decide what you can do in a project:
- Your access level on the project. A project Admin manages the project itself: members, invitations and settings. A Member does not.
- Your permission profile. It sets, per area (models, markers, issues, forms, form templates, element statuses), whether you have No access, View, Create, Edit or Full control.
Organization owners and admins can do everything in every project of their organization. If a section is missing from your menu, your profile does not give you access to it — ask a project admin.
A typical day
- Open your home page. It opens on Daily focus, your own dashboard: the line under the greeting says what waits on you today (overdue, due this week, forms to approve), and its widgets list what is assigned to you, what waits on others because of you and what you did lately. The Projects tab lists every project you can open, across all your organizations; a project opens on the section you picked for it, or the first one you may read.
- Check the bell at the top of the page: new assignments, forms to review and finished exports show up there.
- Work through the Issues assigned to you: open one, update its fields, add photos or files.
- Fill in the Forms assigned to you and submit them for review.
- Open a model in the 3D viewer to see where an issue sits or to check an element's properties.
- Set the status of elements under Progress when work on them is done.
Getting around
- Project switcher. Press Ctrl+K (⌘+K on a Mac) to jump to another project. It keeps you in the same section, so Issues takes you to the other project's Issues.
- Lists. Every list has a search box and a Filters button that opens a panel beside the list (a sheet from the bottom on a phone). Filters apply as you change them; the ⊗ next to the button clears them all.
- Side panels. Clicking a row usually opens it in a panel beside the list rather than a new page. Esc closes it.
- Keyboard shortcuts. Press ? to see them all. The most useful: G then H to go home, G then a section's letter to open it, F for filters, R to refresh a list.
- Theme. Light, dark or system, from your user menu.
Language and emails
The app is available in 12 languages, including three written right to left (Hebrew, Arabic, Persian). Pick yours under your account's profile; the app, the emails you receive and the files you export all follow it. Until you choose, the app uses your browser's language.
What you type is never translated: names, issue titles, field labels, tag and status names stay as people wrote them.
You are emailed when an issue or a form is assigned to you, and when you are invited somewhere. Depending on the project's settings, those emails come at once or collected in an hourly, daily or weekly digest. You are never emailed about your own changes.

When something looks wrong
- I cannot see a project. You are not on it, or it was deleted. Ask a project admin or an organization admin to add you.
- A section is missing from the menu. Your permission profile has No access for that area.
- A model will not open in the viewer. Its conversion is still running or has failed. The Conversion column on Models shows which; a project admin can see the reason and retry it on Jobs.
- Someone says they never got the email. A project admin can look it up in Activity → Emails: it shows whether it was sent, is waiting for a digest, or failed. If the type is set to Never in the project's notification settings, nothing was sent and nothing appears under the bell either.
- I cannot get past the two-step page. Use Email me a code instead, or Use a recovery code. See Your account.
- My export link does not work. Export links last 7 days and only work for the person who asked. Export again.
- The invitation link does not work. Invitations expire after 48 hours, or the invitation was cancelled. Ask for a new one.
